This week I went to a few house contents sales. Only one was a success. I purchased 3 binders full of collectible cards of all kinds. Not thoroughly looking through just flipping briefly before purchase. In the back of one of the binders I found about 50 autographed sports cards. I don’t think any of them are extremely valuable by themselves but as a whole I would think they are worth at least double maybe 3x what I paid. Also inside were 1950’s 3D Tarzan cards, not quite a full set about 10 short. Still, very cool.
I like to think about the story behind items I find at yard sales. Like this collection of cards. It seems like somebody took a lot of time collecting them and getting them signed. It makes me wonder why it was for sale. Thanks for sharing!
This was a house contents sale by a former sports card dealers son. But yes, I often wonder that. I purchased a hand fan collection from a woman at a yard sale last summer. Wonderful collection that had taken a long time to accumulate but looked as though it had been in storage for many years. I suppose as you age, marry, have kids for most people that means letting go of things they once loved.
