5/25/18 Antique photo album find!

My most recent acquisition from a local auction is this photo album. U.S. Army Clarence A. McMullen’s trip around the world on U.S. Army Transport Heffron in 1920. And various others. Many USS and USAT ship photos. My favorite part is all the photographs have brief description, locations and dated backs. Old photographs are truly something special.

Been neglecting my blog but I will be updating more often now.

6/20/2015 Yard Sale Finds

I really love old sheet music. The graphics and colors give you an amazing look back in time. I got several hundred of these from an flea market for $20. These date from mid 1840’s-1940’s. I haven’t had a chance to go through them all or look up any values but there could be some real gems in here😍

Vintage video games !!! Who doesn’t love these, I know I do. As obsolete they are, they bring you back to the 80’s instantly. I purchased a whole box for $60 at a yard sale on Saturday morning. I was the first one there and snagged this bargain up, Yey😃. Included was a 35yo woody Atari, 46 games with nearly all their manuals, and some various controllers!

06/06/2015 Yard Sale Finds

I purchased some great vintage items this week at an estate sale and a moving sale. What I love about doing what I do is you never know what you will find or where you will find it. It keeps things interesting and it’s never boring.

These are really cool 1950’s leather combat boots. Gotta love the look of these and especially the wear. I found these in the way back of a closet full of clothes. It pays to dig at contents sales!
This is an old hand painted metal sign, really cool patina to it which is hard to tell by the glare from the flash.

Below is what I love about estate sales. This is an entire family’s photos way back to the tin ones up to the 1980s. I always buy this stuff when I see it because I enjoy having them. Sad as it is that no one wanted these photos, I’m happy to be the one to save them from the trash. Also included in this box of memories was every single congratulations letter from his various promotions the man of the house received in his lifelong career at The Pennsylvania Railroad. Very cool!

5/30/2015 Yard Sale Finds

This weeks highlight was one particular yard sale which I got a bunch of awesome items for very reasonable prices😄 this was the start of a moving sale and she was selling everything out of her garage. So I was able to uncover some really neat items. Shown below is just a handful of what I found there, I bought a lot😉

I only paid $1 for this painting. Painted landscape Signed by artist “Henry Ernest Fritzsche ’07”. I believe it is 1907 because I looked name up and matches man who was painter among other things born 1874.
Vintage Tile-tex store display sign. Very cool original sign in excellent condition.

This is a whole stack of 80s-90s sports hats with original tags still attached, very cool.
These are pencil drawings done in the early 1990’s in the style of comics. Extremely well done, super detailed up close!

This is just a pen drawling of a deer but I liked it, it’s got some feeling.

05/16/2015 Yard Sale Finds

Hi all😀 I have some interesting things this week to share from my many yard sale adventures. First off a 1920s Salesman 7 Bottle Container. After that there is a cool window fan. Love that color and I don’t even mind that’s it’s got some scratches and wear. It looks even cooler to me that you can see it is an old fan not a reproduction. Last but not least a 1940s Western Electric Bakelite telephone, purchased for $20 at a yard sale and sold on eBay already for $70.

05/09/15 Yard Sale Finds

For this weeks Yard Sale “Picking” I got a whole lot of Fossils and Minerals at a yard sale. I mean a TON! Not sure how the sellers got them but there are about 15 display boxes from The Nature Company. They are also mostly individually labeled and priced from $79.99 to a few dollars.

I used to love that store when I was a kid about 15 years ago. My dad and I would ride our bicycles up to the shopping center and look at all the cool fossils and minerals and drink the free hot tea. Seeing these brought back a lot of fun memories.
